Hey guys, welcome to The Mixing Pot. If you are here then you want to learn how to make your blended family a success. Before we can start mixing together healthy blended families we must do a little research and find out why this has become such a popular meal. The best way to do that would be to first take a look at the different guest that will be seated around our table. I have listed the most common blended family relationships:
•Divorced with children; the children reside with one parent and visit the other. Most are dating or looking for new partners.
•Remarried, re-coupled, living together, with his and/or her children; He/she is in the role of stepparent.
• Single Mothers; re-coupled, dating or alone.
•Divorced Dads; these dads generally visit their children. Often they are re-coupled, bringing a stepmother figure into their children’s lives.
• Lesbian and gay couples with children from a prior relationship.
I gave that information to simply say
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
YOU ARE NOT ALONE!
When it comes to blended families there can be many different "ingredients inside of your mixing pot", while some ingredients can be harder to stomach than others the main goal for everyone should be a healthy, hearty meal filled with physical, emotional and mental love and care for the children & adults involved in the immediate family. It would be absurd to think that everyone involved will be pleased. Logically we can't expect to always make ex-wives or boyfriends turned "baby fathers" happy and frankly that’s an issue for them to deal with. We can’t let our past dictate our future!
Now that we have discovered who we are cooking for and the dish we have chosen to make i want everyone to join me again soon so we can move on to Step 2 in our blended family cookbook. See you guys next time. TTYL
